Gluten Free Valentine’s Day – St. Louis

Sam and I do not do anything too crazy for Valentine’s Day. Small gifts and usually a laid back dinner at a super safe gluten free restaurant. Some people love it, some people hate it but no matter your stance on VDAY here are my top spots for your Gluten Free Valentine’s / Galentine’s Day Dinner. Always call ahead to make sure ingredients and kitchen practices haven’t changed!

1. Corner Pub & Grill is usually where Sam and I end up to gorge ourselves on safe gluten free fried food on Valentine’s Day to show each other that we value good food just as much as we value each other. 😉 All jokes aside Corner Pub, although not fancy, is a bit of a drive for us (Chesterfield and Valley Park locations) so it’s often saved for special occasions. The owner’s daughter Hanna has Celiac Disease so they take cross contamination seriously. They have weekly gluten free specials and an awesome menu of regular items, check them out here https://www.cornerpubandgrill.com/cornerpubmenu

2. Retreat Gastropub doesn’t market themselves as a gluten free friendly restaurant but they have a dedicated fryer for their french fries, gluten free buns, flatbreads (not celiac safe but if you’re GF for other reasons), and a variety of other tasty gf options. Their cocktail menu is also incredible! Retreat is located in Midtown. They don’t list the gluten free options on their menu but you can get an idea of the type of food here http://www.retreatgastropub.com/menus/

3. Louie’s Wine Dive has a great menu that labels each item if it is naturally gluten free or can be modified to be gluten free and there are LOTS of options. They even have a dedicated fryer! This is the place to go if you love a good glass of wine and delicious food. They have a nice mix of small plates if you want to share with your honey or entrees if you’d rather have your own. Louie’s is located in Clayton. Check out their menu here http://louieswinedive.com/

4. Cafe Natasha is an amazing Persian restaurant located in the South Grand neighborhood of St. Louis City. Their gluten free menu at the location has even more options than the online one shows. They will sub pita bread for corn tortilla chips (from a bag – not fried) so you can enjoy their amazing array of dips. They also have a gin room attached if that is your drink of choice with a seriously incredible list of cocktails and gins. Check out their menu here http://cafenatasha.com/glutten-free.php
